The 75hp Rover didn’t make the Skylark the liveliest performer, so later airplanes were built with the 95hp Cirrus Hi-Drive. The engine was designed by Harold Morehouse who designed engines for Wright Aeronautical, and only about 80-90 of them were ever built. ![]() It was powered by a Michigan Rover 75hp Inline 4 engine that was developed specifically for Driggs by Michigan Aero Engine Company who had the same financial backers. It was a conventional trainer biplane design with two seats in tandem and dual controls. It was test flown by famous WWI pilot Grant Kettles who was quite enamored with its flying characteristics.
